List your app in the Marketplace

The Marketplace is where people find apps made with Crisp. List a published app for a one-time $9, refunded if it is not accepted, so the people who visit Crisp can find it and open it.

On this page

The Marketplace shows apps people made with Crisp. Listing your app there gets it seen by the people who visit Crisp, for a small one-time fee. Visitors can search it and open any app. Some makers also let visitors make their own copy to change.

List an app#

  1. Publish your app. Only apps that are live can be listed. See Publish your app.
  2. Press Published in the top bar, then List in the Marketplace.
  3. Give it a name, a one-sentence description, more details if you like, and a category. Copies are off unless you tick Let other Crisp users copy this app.
  4. Press Save and take pictures. Crisp opens your live app and takes one picture on a computer screen and one on a phone screen. You can take new ones, upload your own, change their order and remove any.
  5. Press Pay $9 and send. You pay once, by card.

A person checks every app before it appears, usually within one working day, and we email you either way.

What we check#

  • The app opens and does what the listing says.
  • The name, words and pictures are about this app and are not misleading.
  • It is not spam, a scam, harmful, or a copy of someone else's work.
  • It follows the terms.

Make your own copy#

Copies are off by default. Tick Let other Crisp users copy this app in the listing form only if you want any signed-in Crisp user to be able to create their own copy of your app. You can turn them off again at any time; copies already made stay with the people who made them.

When copies are on, anyone signed in to Crisp can press Make your own copy to get your app as a new project of their own. The copy is your app as it was when you last published it, starting with no data. The person changes their copy by chatting with Crisp, like any project, and pays for their own usage. Your listing shows how many copies people have made.

A copy never includes:

  • your data
  • your app's keys
  • your conversation with Crisp
  • your uploads
  • your domain

Featured is optional. For $29, your app is shown at the top of the Marketplace for 7 days, with a Featured label, like a sponsored place. You can buy it once your app is live in the Marketplace. Only 6 apps can be at the top at once. When all 6 places are taken, the page says when the next one is free. While your app is at the top, you can buy another 7 days.

Change or remove your listing#

  • Change the words, category, whether copies are on, or the pictures at any time, at no cost. Changes show at once and are checked again by a person.
  • Take it out of the Marketplace removes it. Listing it again later is checked again, with the listing fee.
  • If you unpublish the app or delete the project, the listing is hidden too.

How apps are ordered#

Popular puts first the apps that people open most (and copy most, where copies are on), with newer apps given a fair chance. New shows the most recently accepted apps first. Featured apps are always at the top, with their label.

Reports#

Every listing has Report this app. When several people report an app, it is hidden until a person looks at it. We remove apps that break the rules and email the maker why.

Can I list an app on the Free plan?

Yes. Every plan can list apps, for the same one-time $9. On Free you can publish one app, so you can have one listing at a time.

Do I earn money when people copy my app?

No. The Marketplace is for being found, not for selling apps. Copies are off unless you turn them on. When they are on, a copy is free for the person who makes it, apart from their own usage.

What are the apps marked Example?

The Crisp team made them to show the kinds of apps Crisp builds. They are not paid listings and show no counts. Make your own copy on an example asks Crisp to build that app for you as a new project, from the same description.

Can I list an app I imported from GitHub?

Yes, once it is published. Turning copies on needs a version saved by Crisp: make one change in the chat and publish again.
