Browse and edit data in the Data tab

The Data tab shows every table of your app's database, like a spreadsheet. Filter and sort records, change a value, add or delete a row, run a read-only query, or download the whole database.

Updated

On this page

Open the Data tab, next to Preview and Code. On a phone, it is in the bar at the bottom. It shows the data of your preview. Your published app keeps its own data, which this tab does not change.

Find records#

  • Pick a table in the list on the left. On a phone, pick it from the menu at the top. Each table shows how many rows it has.
  • To filter, choose a column and a condition, such as contains or =, type a value and press Filter. Clear removes the filter.
  • Click a column heading to sort by it. Click again to reverse the order, and a third time to stop sorting.
  • Use Rows to show 25, 50, 100, 250 or 500 rows at a time, and Prev and Next to move between pages.

Change data#

Every change asks you to confirm it before it is saved.

ToDo this
See a full valueClick the cell. A panel shows the value with Edit and Copy.
Change a valueDouble-click the cell, type, and press Save. Then confirm with Save change.
Add a rowPress Add row, fill in the fields, press Review, then Add row. Leave a field empty to use its default.
Delete a rowPress the bin button on the row, then Delete row.

Run a query#

Open SQL to run a database query and see the result. Press Run, or Ctrl and Enter (⌘ and Enter on a Mac). Queries can only read data, never change it, and show up to 500 rows. Query on a table starts a query for you.

Fill an empty table#

An empty table offers Ask crisp to add sample rows. It sends the request to the chat. You can also ask in your own words: "Add 20 realistic sample clients with a mix of statuses."

Download your data#

Press Download .db to save the whole database as one file. You can open it with any SQLite tool.
