Glossary
The words used in crisp and in these docs, explained in one or two sentences each.

| Word | Meaning |
|---|---|
| AI usage | The work the AI models do to build and change your app, measured in dollars. Each plan includes some every month. See Plans. |
| Balance | The AI usage you have left. The button in the top bar shows it. |
| Build | One request and all the work crisp does for it, from your message to its final reply. See How a build works. |
| Database | Where your app saves its records. Each project has its own. See Your app's data. |
| Key | A secret code from another service, such as Stripe, that lets your app use that service. See Give your app a key. |
| Limit per request | The most one request may cost. You set it on the Billing page. See How AI usage is charged. |
| Live app | The published copy of your app, with its own address and its own data. See Publish your app. |
| Path | The part of an address after the domain, such as /bookings. It says which page of your app you are on. |
| Plan (in a build) | The short list crisp writes at the start of a build: the pages, the data, the look and its assumptions. |
| Preview | Your app, running inside the workspace while you build it. See Use the preview. |
| Project | One app with its conversation, its code and its data. See Manage your projects. |
| Prompt | What you write to crisp to ask for an app or a change. See Write good prompts. |
| Publish | Put your app online at its own address, for other people. See Publish your app. |
| Record | One saved item in your app, such as one booking or one client. |
| Sample data | Realistic made-up records crisp adds so your pages are not empty while you build. |
| Secrets | The private list of keys for one project. Your app can read them; the AI only sees their names. See Give your app a key. |
| Tester | The part of crisp that uses your app in a real browser, like a person, before a build is called done. |
| Top-up | Extra AI usage you buy when you need it, on any plan with AI usage. Top-ups never expire. |
| Workspace | The screen where you work on one project: the chat, the preview and the code. See The workspace. |
