Send email from your app
Your app can send emails such as confirmations, reminders and receipts through Resend. Until you add a Resend key, crisp keeps a record of every email instead of sending it, so you can test everything first.
Updated
Ask for an email the way you would describe it to a person: who gets it, when, and what it says.
When someone books a class, send them a confirmation email with the class, the time and a link to cancel. Send me an email too.
Before you add a key#
Emails go out through Resend, an email service. Until you add a Resend key, your app does not send anything. It saves each email in the database instead, so the whole flow works and you can check the text. Ask crisp: "Show me the last emails the app would have sent."
Start sending real email#
-
Create an account at resend.com and an API key. It starts with
re_. -
Give the key to crisp as
RESEND_API_KEY. See Give your app a key. -
To send from your own address, such as hello@yourdomain.com, verify your domain in Resend and give crisp the sender as
EMAIL_FROM.
Good uses#
- Confirmations after a booking, an order or a sign-up.
- Password reset links, together with sign-in.
- A message to you when something new arrives.
