Undo anything, including data

Every reply in the chat is a saved version of your app. Go back to it with the code and the data together, or the code only, move forward again, see what each reply changed, or start a new project from it.

In most tools, undo only brings back the code. If a change also deleted or reshaped your records, they stay lost. In crisp, every reply saves the whole app: the code, the data and the running preview. So going back is complete.

Go back to an earlier version#

  1. In the chat, find the reply you want to return to.
  2. Press Restore this version under it. On a phone it says Restore.
  3. Choose what to bring back: Code and data, or Code only.
  4. Press Restore. The preview reloads in a few seconds.
ChoiceWhat happens
Code and dataThe code, the data in your app and the preview all return to that reply.
Code onlyThe code returns to that reply. The data you have now stays as it is.

Restoring is not possible while a build runs. Wait for it to finish, or stop it first.

Undo a restore, and redo#

Nothing is thrown away. The replies after the version you restored stay in the chat, dimmed and marked Undone. Press Redo on one of them to move forward to it again.

Right after a restore, press Undo next to "Restored this version" to put everything back exactly as it was before, including data added since the last reply.

See what a reply changed#

Under each reply, N files changed shows how many lines were added and removed. Press it to see every file the reply added, changed or removed, line by line. On a larger screen, choose Unified or Side by side.

Start a new project from a reply#

Press Start a new project from here to get a separate copy of the app as it was at that reply, with its own data, its own preview and your secrets. The chat up to that reply comes with it. The original project does not change.

What a version includes#

  • All the code, including changes you made by hand in the Code tab.
  • The data in your app: every record, every account.
  • Files people uploaded to the app in the preview.

Your published app#

Restoring a version changes the app you are working on. Your published app and its data stay the same until you publish again, so you can try an older version safely first.

If you undo a request within 10 minutes of it finishing, you get back what it cost. See Usage and billing.
