Let people upload files

Ask crisp to let people upload photos or documents. Your app accepts PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF and PDF files up to 5 MB each and keeps them with your app.

On this page

Many apps need files: a photo for each product, a profile picture, or a PDF with each order. Ask for it like any other feature.

Example prompt

Let me upload a photo for each recipe. Show it at the top of the recipe page and as a small picture in the list.

What crisp builds#

  • An upload field in the form you named.
  • A check on every file: it must be a PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or PDF file, and no larger than 5 MB. People see a clear message when a file is not accepted.
  • Safe storage for the files, with your app, and a record of each file in your database.
  • Pages that show the images, or link to the PDF files.

You do not need a key or an account with another service for uploads.

Who can see the files#

By default, anyone who can see the page can see its images. If files are private, say so, for example "Only the person who uploaded an invoice can open it." It works best together with sign-in.
